The Pointe du Payré is one of the most beautiful walks in the Vendée. This area, owned by the Conservatoire du Littoral, is one of the most beautiful holm oak forests on the Atlantic coast. The plants living here are highly adapted to sea spray and soil conditions. As a result, they offer a wide range of shapes and colors.
Following a path overlooking the cliffs, you can learn about the geological history of the southern Vendée. The different geological strata offer colors ranging from blue to ochre. However, strong anthropic pressure is gradually causing the cliffs to recede, and if left unprotected, they could disappear very quickly.
